      Happy Healthy Halloween 2014


For years now people have asked me what to have in their homes for a healthier Halloween. I have suggested anything from granola bars to organic lollipops. However, kids will be kids and they are still going to go Trick or Treating and come home with lots of different types of candy. So this year I decided to give you an idea of what we now consider healthier Halloween candy. These choices are based on calories, fat and sugar. Enjoy and watch your portions. That is the key to success on any day of the year.

Hershey's Special Dark- two miniatures -88 calories

Peanut M&Ms-miniature bag is 93 calories

Twizzlers- two are 50 calories

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups Miniature- two miniatures are 88 calories

3 Musketeers minis- two minis are approximately 50 calories

Tootsie Roll minis- three are 70 calories

Raisinetes- the snack size bag has only 67 calories

Mounds-one snack-sized bar has 80 calories

Kit Kat-One 2-piece bar has 70 calories

Dum Dum Lollipop-these small pops have only 20 calories

 

All of these choices are under 100 calories, 6 grams of fat, and 10 grams of sugar per serving.

 

 

Trick or Treating for approximately one hour can burn up to 200 calories!!!!
