Help Fight the onset of Seasonal Affective Disorder

Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that is believed to be caused by the changing seasons. Typically, symptoms begin to worsen around fall and reach their peak during the winter months. This all stems from the lack of light that starts in the fall and result in lower levels of serotonin, the mood-enhancing chemical that regulates hunger and the feeling of well-being. Besides traditional therapy, and light therapy, exercise and healthy eating can help turn that frown upside down. Here is a list of foods that may enhance your mood through their ability to help your body produce more serotonin.
