       Foods that Promote Longevity

                 

 

Around the world, certain groups of people enjoy exceptionally long lives. Consider the lucky people of Okinawa. These Pacific Islanders have an average life expectancy of more than 81 years, compared to 78 in the United States and a worldwide average of just 67. Incorporate the following foods into your diet and these might just keep you living longer!!! 

 

Plenty of fruits and vegetables

Whole grains

Dark chocolate

Blueberries and other antioxidant-rich fruits

Fish

Low-fat dairy products

Dark green leafy vegetables

Tofu

Herbal teas

Healthy oils, such as olive and coconut

Flavoring spices, such as cumin, curry, ginger, and chili powder

Nuts and seeds

Avocados

Beets

Bran

Cabbage

Pomegranate

Pumpkin

Lentils
