Keep your Eyes Healthy and Protected!!!

Optimizing one's health is not just about the notion of being within your ideal body weight , but how it effects all parts of your body. A well balanced diet improves how your body works including your eye function.Sunlight can damage your eyes, leading to macular degeneration and cataracts. The light oxidizes proteins in your eyes that eventually will damage your lens if protective measures are not taken. Therefore, it is important to protect your eyes throughout your life. The right nutrition can help!! Here is what you need to consume to keep your eyes healthy:

Lutein and zeaxanthin: Found in kale, broccoli, kiwi, spinach, and eggs.·
Vitamin C: Found in Bell peppers, broccoli, and citrus fruits.
Vitamin E: Found in nuts and sweet potato
Beta carotene and Vitamin A: Found in sweet potatoes, carrots, milk and eggs.

Omega-3 fatty acids: Found in salmon, avocado, and olive oil.

These nutrients help protect your retina and in turn help slow down any damage that the sunlight can do.
