The Dirty Dozen: What foods should we buy organic? 
We know how important fruits and vegetables are for our diet. However, many commercially grown produce contain high levels of pesticides. Pesticides can be detrimental to your health and have been linked to cancer, brain and nervous system problems as well as irritation of the skin and lungs. Because of these side effects, the Environmental Working Group tests produce yearly to comprise a list of the produce containing the most pesticides. They recommend buying these products Organic when possible, which lowers the pesticide content.This list is called the Dirty Dozen.

1.Apples

2.Strawberries

3.Grapes

4.Celery

5.Peaches

6.Spinach

7.Sweet bell peppers

8.Imported nectarines

9.Cucumbers

10.Potatoes

11.Cherry tomatoes

12.Hot peppers

 Again, this list is simply to provide you with the necessary information you need as a consumer to make better choices for optimal health. Organic produce is more expensive so pick an choose which products you can afford to buy this way and simply wash the other products as well as you can before eating.
