Don't go to Thanksgiving dinner hungry.
Choose your food wisely, fill your plate with grilled or steamed vegetables, lean white meat turkey and one sweet potato.

Turkey - go skinless: try having only 4 ounces.
Side Dishes -moderation is always key and choose low fat items
Make a conscious choice to limit high fat items

Drink plenty of water, it will help fill up your stomach and keep you hydrated.
Pick one dessert, watch your portion and ENJOY!!!

To lighten your recipes follow these tips as well:

Use fat-free chicken broth to baste the turkey and make gravy.

Use fruit purees instead of oil in baked goods.

Reduce oil and butter wherever you can.

Try plain yogurt or fat-free sour cream in creamy dips, mashed potatoes, and casseroles.

To Help yourself have a healthy meal:

Be the one to offer to bring steamed veggies and a fresh fruit platter for dessert. This way you have control over what you choose to eat.

Create a calorie deficit by burning more calories through extra exercise on Thanksgiving Day and eating less !!! Burn off a half of cup of stuffing(approx 200 cal) by playing 30 minutes of flag football with your dinner guests!!!
