Foods That Can Help Optimize your Workouts
In order to get the most out of your workout, think of your body like a machine that needs to be serviced and maintained for optimal performance. The fuel you use and the times you refuel are critical to getting the most out of your body and the engine that drives it. Here are some suggestions to keep your engine revved up for your workout.
One hour before your workout eat a simple carb such as an apple, blueberries, watermelon, oranges or grapes.
Two hours before your workout try slower burning carbs and protein such as whole grain bread, almond butter, Greek yogurt and fruit.
Three to four hours before your workout have a meal that includes all food groups ie. Skim milk, quinoa or oats, almonds, veggies, fruit and a lean protein such as fish or chicken.
Of course you will have to adapt these suggestions to the time you workout but always remember to follow this as a guideline.
