Have a Happy and Healthy Labor Day !!!!
We have been through many Holidays and Barbeques together this year. I think that all of you who have been committed to PTI should stand up and give yourself a round of applause. More and more of you each and everyday are losing weight, building muscle, and feeling really great about your progress and yourselves. So, lets continue on the right track and get through this last summer Holiday weekend with some tips to keep you feeling great.
Avoid the high calorie hors d'hoeuvres
Stick with lots of veggies and low calorie dips to start your day

Enjoy Shrimp cocktail: Serve 7 medium shrimp with 1 Tbsp cocktail sauce (120 calories)

Veggies such as asparagus, zucchini, corn, peppers, onions, and portobello mushrooms are great for grilling
Substitute Greek yogurt for half of the mayonnaise in your potato salad to trim fat and calories
Choose low fat meats such as chicken and bison
Grill all kinds of fish instead of steak and burgers
Stay hydrated throughout the day by drinking plenty of water
Have one alcoholic beverage instead of two or three
And finally for dessert try:

Frozen Greek yogurt with berries: Mix 6 oz plain fat free Greek yogurt with ¼ tsp vanilla extract and place in freezer for about 2 hours.  Serve with 1 cup berries or fresh fruit (150 calories).

 

Take a 15 minute walk on the beach and burn 100 calories fast!!!
