What you Should Know About Vitamin D
Approaching my 30th year as an RD, you become used to lots of different issues our clients face. As new blood tests are developed, we can now understand underlying causes of many nutritional problems that we could not identify before. Lately, Vitamin D deficiency seem to be on the rise . Here are the top foods that contain Vitamin D.

Cod Liver Oil

Eggs

Milk

Sardines

Salmon

Fortified Cereals

Oysters

Caviar (Black and Red)

Fortified Soy Products (Tofu and Soy Milk)

The new recommended daily allowance (RDA), as set in 2010, is based on age, as follows: for those 1-70 years of age, 600 IU's daily; for those 71 years and older, 800 IU's Daily. Vitamin D is also known as the sun Vitamin and ten minutes a day of natural sunlight is needed for the synthesis of Vit. D.
