The New Building We Need to Build!
Will you help put us
OVER THE TOP?
We're Getting There, but Need YOU!
40% of our goal, and gaining ground.
It's for the Southwestern Seminary at Darrington Penitentiary-- now in our 4th year.
Help us turn the prison's "Old Gym" into the prison's "New Seminary"
We have totally outgrown our current space!
We must have more room in 2015 for our four complete classes of Seminary Students: Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors. We're overflowing with students for the space we currently have.
Thank you!

Darrington Seminary began in 2011 as an historic step for the Texas prison system, the largest prison system in the United States. Located within the maximum-security Darrington Penitentiary south of Houston, the Seminary began in the depths of a prison which had a history of gang activity, drugs and violence. The Heart of Texas Foundation is the epicenter of the formation and funding of this new approach to penal reform. Now in our fourth year of operation, we're out of class room space! We have reached our full complement of four complete classes of students all in class simultaneously, five days a week: freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors. For our student body to have reached this size has taken us four years of successful operation.
All four levels of these students meet simultaneously in their own separate (and crowded) classrooms with their own PhD professors, every day at the Southwestern Seminary at Darrington Penitentiary.
With the help of our contributors, we have grown into a fully accredited, 4-year Seminary, and we're out of room in the old prison wing where we began. We have been given "the old penitentiary gym," a virtually abandoned but solid building inside the prison grounds. Once we renovate it, the "new" building will become perhaps the world's first building of its kind. And we need your help!
We are an IRS approved 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization. Make a tax-deductible gift and help turn the Old Gym into a New Seminary Building!
