Darrington Seminary
Building Renovation Project-- The Old Gym
Darrington Seminary began in 2011 as an historic step for the Texas prison system, the largest prison system in the United States. Located within the maximum-security Darrington Penitentiary south of Houston, the Seminary began in the depths of a prison which had a history of gang activity, drugs and violence. We were at the epicenter of the formation and funding of this new approach to penal reform. We're in our fourth year of operation, and we're out of room as the full complement of inmate students has arrived!
We have grown into a full, 4-year accredited Seminary, and we're out of room in the old prison wing where we began. We have been given "the old gym," a virtually abandoned but solid building inside the prison grounds, and with renovation will become perhaps the world's first stand-alone seminary building inside a maximum security prison. We need your help!
We are an IRS approved 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization. Make a tax-deductible gift and help turn the Old Gym into a New Seminary Building!
