Friends of Scouting is the Colonial Virginia Council's annual giving campaign and is the largest and most important source of funding. Your support enables Scouting's programs and outdoor adventures to prepare young people for a lifetime of character and leadership.

Know Your District!
Information in our newsletter is organized geographically.
Although events across the Council are open to all units, most units participate in events close to home. Each local territory has a specific service area and a name. Find your District below:
- Chesapeake Bay: Mathews, Gloucester, and York Counties and the City of Poquoson
- Colonial Trail: Surry and Isle of Wight Counties and the City of Suffolk
- First Colony: James City County and the City of Williamsburg.
- Heritage: The City of Hampton
- James River: The City of Newport News
- Siouan Rivers: Sussex, Southampton, Greenville and Brunswick Counties as well as the Cities of Franklin and Emporia

Roundtable
 Come to the Cub Scout Roundtable and take valuable information back to your pack. Find out about upcoming events in the district. Chesapeake Bay Cub Scout Roundtable is for all leaders, cub masters, committee chairs or anyone that is interested in scouting. You will find out about all upcoming events in the Chesapeake Bay District. We have great ideas for your den and pack meetings, ceremonies, pack activities, interesting topics, door prizes, break out sessions geared towards leaders, webelos leaders and cub masters and committee chairs. We have food and fun so come and join us every first Thursday of the month at 7:30 pm at Yorkminster Presbyterian Church on highway 17 in Grafton. Adults only please! We can't wait to see you!

Troop 103 Camporee
Troop 103 in Williamsburg, VA recently attended the 52nd Annual West Point Camporee at Lake Frederick, NY. Every year for 52 years, the Cadet Scoutmasters' Council at the United States Military Academy at West Point hosts a camporee for a weekend of adventure for approximately 6,000 scouts from more than 200 different Boy and Girl Scout troops. The Council is made-up of cadets that have a Boy Scout/Girl Scout background.
Troop 103 also put together a "super squad" of older Scouts that completed all of the graded Camporee events and came in 5th place overall; quite an accomplishment considering there there were over 200 troops competing at the weekend event. The trip was sponsored by Troop 103 Eagle Scout Bobby Davis, a current cadet at West Point Military and the Troop's committee in celebration of the Troop's 90th anniversary this year.

This is the premier training program for adult leaders in all Scouting programs.

CPR and Basic First Aid
This course covers adult and child/infant CPR with AED, how to respond in an emergency, and render basic first aid. This meets and exceeds the requirements for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts Level 1 Provider.

Did You Know?
The best way in is not always the best way out. Sometimes safety is about quickly getting away from an unsafe situation. That is why it pays to know your exits.
Chances are you're aware of the exists from your home and workplace. But what about the stores where you shop, the public buildings you enter, the venues you take your family to, or the hotels where you stay?
Get in the habit of always locating the emergency exit wherever you are. If you know exactly where to go, you'll get there a lot quicker.
