UPDATE: Summer Transportation Projects Start Dates Changed

LEESVILLE, La.--The City of Leesville would like to remind its residents that transportation projects will begin June 22, weather permitting, and continue for several months.   

 

 

US 171, Vernon Parish, 400' North of Boone St to LA 8/LA 28

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that, weather permitting, construction work will begin on US 171 from the roundabout at LA 8/LA 28 to 400' North of Boone St on Thursday, June 22, 2015, weather permitting, and will continue for approximately (8) eight months. This 2.729 mile long project will receive concrete pavement rehabilitation, cold planing asphaltic concrete, pavement patching, superpave asphaltic pavement overlay and related work.


The project was awarded to the low bidder, Progressive Construction Co., LLC in the amount of $2,405,517.15.

Permit/Detour section 
The roadway will be open to traffic at all times. There will be no restrictions for regular traffic and a 12' wide lane width restriction for all oversize vehicles. However, there will be at least one lane accessible in the north and south bound directions on US 171 throughout the duration of the project.

 

The contractor expects to do the majority of the work from 6PM to 6AM, however, traffic delays will still likely occur, so please plan accordingly. 


US 171, Vernon Parish, US 171 @LA 1213

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces that, weather permitting, construction work will begin on the US 171 North Bound lane at LA 1213 cross drain replacement project, Thursday, June 29, 2015, weather permitting, and will continue for approximately (2) two months. This 0.015 mile long project will receive drainage structures, pavement patching, and related work.

The project was awarded to the low bidder, Apeck Constuction, Inc. in the amount of $489,209.10.

Permit/Detour section 
The US 171 North will be open to traffic at all times. There will be no restrictions for regular traffic and a 12' wide lane width restriction for all oversize vehicles. LA 1213 at the intersection of US 171 North will be closed for the first phase of the project. The US 171 North Bound Lane will be reduced to one lane for the duration of the project. A subsequent press release will be issued to notify the public when the intersection of LA 1213 at US 171 North will re-open to traffic.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment during both the LA 1213 project and the U.S. 171 project.
