ICYMI: KPLC broadcasts live from downtown Leesville

LEESVILLE--KPLC 7 broadcasted live from historic downtown Leesville Oct. 1 as part of the station's This is Home Road Tour in celebration of being on the air for 60 years. KPLC kicked the tour off in Leesville, and will follow up with live broadcasts in the coming weeks from other towns in their viewing area.

 

Featured guests on the morning show included Executive Director of the Vernon Parish Tourism Commission John Crook; Leesville Main Street Manager Sam Kincade; Leesville Mayor Rick Allen; and James Turner, owner of the Smart House, the oldest structure in Leesville.

 

The noon show included interviews with Jim Caldwell of Kisatchie National Forest as well as local artist Jerry LaCaze.

 

Michael Reese, Chairman of Fort Polk Progress was featured on the evening broadcast, highlighting the effects of Fort Polk on the region's economy and how threats to force structure could impact the state.
