East Leesville Baptist Church to Install Basketball Goal at Myrtle Park

LEESVILLE-East Leesville Baptist Church expects to install a basketball goal at Myrtle Park. The church has been wanting to reach out to the community surrounding the park for some time, said Executive Pastor Jerry Key.

In fact, the church has adopted the park and has plans to become even more involved.

"Future plans include block parties and a Backyard Bible Club," said Key.

"We're excited that our area churches are taking the initiative to become more and more involved in our community," said Leesville Mayor Rick Allen. "In fact, we welcome community groups, other churches and businesses who may want to do something similar. We're grateful for a community that invests itself into improvements in our neighborhoods."

East Leesville expects to have the goal, which will cost approximately $1,100, installed within the next 30 days, said Key, who  also said anyone who wants to become involved in this or similar projects for the neighborhood, to please contact the church at 337-239-3733.
