LEESVILLE, La. --The City of Leesville has announced that its Municipal Pool will open Saturday, July 12. The first session begins at 11 a.m. Sessions are $2 each per person.

City staff had been prevented from opening the pool as anticipated on Memorial Day Weekend due to unforeseen technical issues, which have now been resolved.

The Leesville Municipal Pool is located in the 500 block of W. Lula Street behind the Vernon Parish Optional School, which is at 401 Nolan Trace in Leesville.

The Municipal Pool is 25 yards long and features depths up to 10 feet as well as a diving board. Its occupancy is 25 people.

Sessions will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. One session is scheduled each for Wednesdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and the pool will be closed on Mondays.

Lifeguards will be on duty.

Pool parties will also be available from 6-8 p.m. Tuesdays-Sundays. The rates are $150 for 1-50 people; $175 for 51-75 people.

The pools' seasons are expected to run through Labor Day weekend.
