A Round To Remember is a grassroots program that works to educate people about Alzheimer's, raise awareness for those facing the disease and the impact it has on their families and caregivers through volunteer organized golf events. More than 5 million Americans have Alzheimer's disease and over 15 million are acting as their caregivers.
This year marks the first year the Leesville Municipal Golf Course has raised awareness for Alzheimer's. The Leesville Municipal Golf Course is currently registering for the Round to Remember event and invites the public to take part.
The mission of A Round To Remember is to empower golfers to help change the course of Alzheimer's by providing a platform for them to educate their family, friends and community about the disease and raise awareness for those facing Alzheimer's through an activity they are passionate about.
"The success of A Round To Remember is attributed to volunteer champions, like the Leesville Municipal Golf Course staff. Alzheimer's is more prevalent than you think and has far-reaching effects on families, business and society. We are honored to be working with the Alzheimer's Association to help raise awareness and support for this disease," says Diane Perillo, Program Manager, A Round To Remember.
