July 1st marked the beginning of a new Administration's term. With a few Council meetings and just over 1 full month in office under their belts, our newly elected officials have shown excitement and a serious willingness to tackle arising issues and to take on the concerns of the citizens of Leesville.

Current Project Overview

Water line leak repairs - The last round of valve installations have begun and repairs have been completed at:
  • Near Vernon Middle School
  • 10th Street at Fertitta Blvd.
  • Fertitta Blvd. west of Hwy. 171
  • Moses St. south of Warner St.
  • Harriet St. at 7th St. 
  • Arkansas St. at 7th St.
  • 9th St. at MLK St.
Water line replacements The newly installed lines have been tested and services have been transferred to the new lines. 
 
University Parkway water system construction is ongoing. This project is a joint effort between the City of Leesville and the Vernon Parish Police Jury. Construction of a water booster station is set to begin in the near future, since the property for construction has been acquired. 
 
University Parkway sewer system construction is ongoing. This project is a joint effort between the City of Leesville and the Vernon Parish Police Jury. Work has begun on the north lift station site.
 
Other Projects: Construction of a new water well, Installation of a new gravity sewer main along LA Hwy. 28 to the Powell Dr. lift station, Lee Hills water line replacement, Altitude Valve Replacement at Industrial Park, Rehabilitation of the City's two main lift stations, Emergency Lift Station construction at Old Terminal Rd, Emergency replacement of sewer main crossing over Sales Creek at Circles End.
