Leesville announces its annual Cleanup Week and Spring Trash Bash

LEESVILLE, LA- The Mayor's Women's Commission (MWC), in conjunction with The Keep Leesville Beautiful Committee, will host Leesville's annual Cleanup Week beginning Tuesday, April 7th through Friday, April 11th.

Residents are encouraged to clean their properties and the City will offer a lending hand.  Leesville Public Works crews will dispose of items including tree limbs and boards throughout the week.

"Every lending hand is a helping hand to a great case for a city," said Olivia McKee, former president of the Mayor's Women's Commission.

Residents interested in this service should call the Public Works Department at 337-239-2995. The item pick up schedule will be as follows:

April 7: Tree Limbs

April 8: Boards

April 9-10: Old Furniture/Appliances

April 11: Paint Products

Progressive Waste Management will have roll-a ways for residents to bring discarded items to American Moving and Storage. They will be on site on April 7 - 12 from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Cleanup Week will conclude with the annual Spring Trash Bash on Saturday, April 12th at Liberty Garden Park, across from the Vernon Parish Library.

Groups from all local civic organizations, churches, schools or clubs are invited to participate in the event and a little friendly competition. Each group will pick up trash in a specific area of the City and weigh gathered trash at American Moving and Storage, Inc.  At 11:00 a.m., volunteers will return to Liberty Garden Park for a cookout and an awards ceremony hosted by the MWC.
