BOARD COMMENTS
Health Care needs are important to our community.
CHI St. Vincent opened a clinic the first week of July, at 4419 Hwy. 7N, Suite 201. The clinic is open six days a week. Monday through Friday hours are 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Saturday hours are 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. On Saturdays, only walk-ins are taken, and no lab or xray tests will be done. No phones calls are answered on Saturdays.
This is a step toward making more health care options available to our Village.

GOLF DEPARTMENT
Elan's Summer Hours:
During the month of August, Elan's at Granada Golf Club will be open with Summer Hours. The restaurant will be closed on Sunday evenings after Brunch service and closed all day on Monday.  August hours are
Sunday 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m;  Monday - Closed; Tuesday - Saturday 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Restricted Tee Times for Granada, Isabella and Ponce
: Granada, Isabella and Ponce golf courses have recently been closed for play after 12:00 noon.

This decision is based on the fact that those greens have incurred a fungus disease with the heat indexes in the 110 degree ranges, along with the late afternoon thunder storms.  Unfortunately, with the late rains, the greens remain wet all night and the heat and humidity produces a fungus called Pythium that weakens the bent grass.  In some cases, it actually kills the grass.

By resting these greens in the heat of the day, it will assist in getting the bent grass healthier.  All the greens at the six golf courses offering bent grass, have been sprayed multiple times with a fungicide to assist in killing the Pythium.

Foot traffic hinders the healing process for the plant. The next time you play, take a look at the area around the cups and the area where most golfers walk onto and off of the greens towards the cart path and you can actually see some discoloring of the bent grass.

As soon as the bent grass recovers from the disease, Granada, Isabella and Ponce golf courses will open for play again in the afternoons.
