Administration
Administration Customer Service: An Administration/Customer Service representative will be available from 8:00 a.m. until noon on Saturday, May 23 to assist members and residents with identification cards, assessment and utility payments, and other services, at the POA Administration Building located at 895 DeSoto Blvd.

Golf
Couples Golf Tournament: The 2015 Couples Golf Tournament, set for May 28 - 30, still has a few openings. Entry forms and Schedule of Events can by obtained in the Golf Department. Entry fee includes 3 days of golf, 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 2 formal dinners, and a band and dancing on the 29th. If you would like additional information or would like an entry form emailed to you, please call Laura in the Golf Department at 922-5549.
Reduced Golf Rates of Guests Accompanied by Member: Invite your family and friends to play golf in HSV. Reduced golf rates are offered to guests, accompanied by a member, for tee times at all HSVPOA golf courses. Your guests will play at a reduced guest fee when playing with you, an HSV member. Public SafetyCortez Gate: Garland County has repaired the road at the Talley Road bridge. The HSV Police Department has re-opened the Cortez Gate. Click it or Ticket: HSV Police Department along with law enforcement agencies nationwide will be participating in the National Traffic Safety Administration's annual "Click It or Ticket" program from May 18 - 31, 2015. This program is designed to ensure that motorists are wearing their seatbelts. Use of the seatbelt is mandatory for front seat passengers under Arkansas law and is a primary offense, meaning that you can be stopped and fined for violating the seat belt law. The HSVPD wants to ensure that everyone has a safe Memorial Day weekend.Drug Take-Back Box: The Drug Take-Back Box is available at the Police Department Dispatch Lobby at 113 Calella Road. This box is for prescription pills and tablets only, and it can be utilized 24 hours a day.
No over the counter medications, liquids or sharps are to be disposed of in the box. In order to maintain confidentially and prevent identity theft, it is strongly recommended that the prescription medications be removed from their container and securely placed in a zip lock bag prior to depositing in the drop box.

Public Works
Streets Division: The culvert replacement program is in progress. The week of May 25, crews will be working on Orense Circle, Ballobar Way, Ballobar Lane, Murcia Way and Mazarron Drive.
Crews are making road repairs using the newly purchased asphalt crack filling machine.
Please observe all signs and use caution when approaching work areas and mowing crews.
Holiday Trash Schedule: The holiday trash schedule will be in effect the week of May 25. Trash will be picked up one day later than normal. There will be no yard waste pickup on Friday, May 29.

Recreation
Summer Swim Lessons: Swim lessons will be held at the Coronado Fitness Center Monday - Friday from Jun 15 - 28 and Jul. 6 - 31. Two sessions, per day, will be offered at 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. During these times, the indoor pool will have one lane open for water walking. The Monday, Wednesday and Friday shallow water aerobics class will be held at 2:30 p.m. The regular class schedule will resume on Aug. 3. Please check the pool schedule frequently this summer for other changes.
DeSoto Pool Update: After several meetings with the Arkansas Health Department and pool repair personnel, the Desoto Pool will not open this year due to mechanical system and structural failures. Costs to repair the problems are prohibitive, and short-term solutions will not extend use through the 2015 season. Plans are in development to move some summer activities, normally held at the DeSoto Pool, to Balboa Beach and the Natatorium.
Boat Slip Rentals: Covered boat slips are available for rent at Lake Coronado and uncovered slips at Lake DeSoto Marina for six-month and annual leases. Watch for the Grand Re-opening of Lake Desoto Marina coming soon. For information regarding boat-slip sizes and rental fees, please call the Recreation Department at 922-5050.
Green Market: Enjoy the Green Market every Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Grove Park located at 1105 DeSoto Boulevard. Local farmers, bakers and artisans are dedicated to offering homegrown vegetables, home-baked goods and handcrafted items. Also available are meat, eggs, fruits, vegetables, soup mixes, baked goods, gifts and more. Be sure to pick up a reusable Green Market shopping bag for $5. Coronado Fitness Center Presentation: Join Gary Vogt, Fitness Coordinator, at Coronado Fitness Center, at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27, for "The Importance of Exercise for Seniors". This presentation provides information on the role of exercise for seniors and how a regular exercise program improves quality of life and helps seniors stay active. This event is a free event.
Bike to the British Car Show: May is National Bike Month. Basecamp encourages you to beat the crowds and use the amazing Hot Springs Village trail system to bike your way to the show on May 30. Check in at the Basecamp tent at the Ponce de Leon Center and register to win great prizes. Prizes will be awarded to cyclists only. The Basecamp tent opens at 9:00 a.m. TRItheVillageTraining at the Coronado Fitness Center: The final Triathlon Swim, Bike, Run (S/B/R) 30-Minute Clinic will be held tomorrow, Saturday, May 23 at 8:15 a.m.at the Coronado Fitness Center. Coaches will assist with techniques and pointers, observe performances, discuss the rules of competition, answer questions, and may lead impromptu runs or bike rides. The Clinic is FREE with the cost of your Coronado Fitness Center membership. Sign-up for this Clinic today in the Fitness Center Weight Room. Register for TRItheVillage: TRItheVillage is is set for Jun 13 at 7:00 a.m. Register online today at TRItheVillage.com;.
