As we move into the holiday season and together with friends, families and neighbors, look around and make sure they are safe in their homes.  We are able to provide stairlift and ramp rentals that will enable a family member to participate in the holiday gatherings.

We are expecting a wonderful turnout at our upcoming Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening.  Please know that all are welcome to join us but we kindly ask that you RSVP by November 30th at the number shown below and in the honor of the season of giving we are asking that everyone bring an unwrapped toy for the Toys for Tots.

Happy Thanksgiving and let us all be thankful for this wonderful season.

The Center for Adaptive Living at High Point

The Center for Adaptive Living at High Point is a showcase of the latest concepts and products in adaptive living - all staged as they would be in a home setting. Thus, people living with disabilities and the elderly or their families and caregivers; as well as those who wish to age-in-place can see and test the various adaptive living products to gauge if they are a good fit in helping them to live safely and independently. In addition, architects and builders can access The Center so that they can design and build appropriately for this population. As the only facility of its kind in the area, CCRI will be using The Center as a lab for their physical therapy and occupational therapy students starting December 2015.

The Grand Opening will feature demonstrations of the various adaptive living products on display at The Center including the adaptive closet (an open concept closet operating with a remote control) from California Closets; the new AgileLife Transfer & Movement System Bed (a bed on a conveyor belt that reduces the need for someone to lift a patient into bed); Shower Bay, a portable shower; a home elevator, stairlifts, vertical wheelchair lift, ceiling lift, grab bars and many other products specifically designed to make living independently and aging-in-place safe and successful.

As a leader in the adaptive living movement, Home Healthsmith has become an umbrella referral partner. At the Grand Opening, Independence HomeHealthWares of East Providence will be on hand with their Pride Lift Chair and hospital bed as well as there will be additional demonstrations of scooters and electric wheelchairs from Liberty Mobility and an adaptive vehicle from Adaptive Mobility of Seekonk.

The Ribbon Cutting will feature wine, beer and hors d'oevres and guests are asked to bring an unwrapped toy to be donated to Toys for Tots in honor of the season of giving.
