2nd Annual Hammers & Ales: Nailed It!

The Cincinnati ToolBank's second annual Hammers & Ales fundraiser was held on Saturday, October 24th at Bockfest Hall in the Christian Moerlein Brewing Company. We welcomed nearly 300 guests who helped us to raise over $20,000 to benefit the ToolBank's mission of lending tools to charitable organizations. Our supporters snacked on food donated by Dewey's, The Quarter Bistro, A Forkable Feast, Sidekix Saucy Asian and Ladder 19 and enjoyed ales from Moerlein, MadTree, Old Firehouse Brewery and Braxton Brewing. Attendees also played our ToolBank games (and a few lucky winners won some amazing prizes from AMES Tools and Home Depot), enjoyed music by DJ Flyin' Brian Hellmann, bid on silent auction items and got a front row seat to the presentation of the 2nd Annual Brewers Philanthropy Award. We hope everyone had a fun and exciting evening, we can't wait for next year!
Thank you to our 2015 Hammers & Ales Sponsors!
Project Spotlight: Hometown Huddle

Hometown Huddle is a yearly initiative between the NFL and the United Way, it is a hands-on day of service meant to promote volunteerism and give back to the community in a lasting way. The Marvin Lewis Community Fund hosts this event every year and this year the Cincinnati Bengals visited William Howard Taft Elementary. Before this year's event, Taft Elementary did not previously have an outdoor playground for its students. By the end of the day, there was a new playground, community garden, new landscaping and hand painted benches and planters. The ToolBank is a proud supporter of this community event!
Busy Month of Volunteering!

4 awesome volunteer groups came through the ToolBank in October to help us get ready for the cold winter months out in the warehouse! Thank you to University of Cincinnati, Madeira High School, IKRON and LaSalle High School!  Volunteers are critical to the success of the ToolBank and help us to continue providing the much needed service of tool lending to the charitable community. Volunteers this month helped us to organize the warehouse, start inventory, clean, paint, sharpen and sticker tools.
