Building on Our Community
On Saturday, September 19th volunteers from Skanska, Turner Construction, Dugan & Meyers, Baker Concrete, Al. Neyer, Messer Construction, Miller Valentine Group, and HGC Construction came together for a hands-on day of service! Volunteers focused on two local non-profit organizations, The Reds Community Fund and Sidestreams' 500 Chickens project, to assist them in advancing their missions. Volunteers at the Reds Community Fund constructed 10 picnic tables that convert into 20 single benches to support their summer youth programs, providing kids a place to share meals together. Volunteers helped Sidestreams construct mobile chicken coops at Lighthouse Community School to support their ongoing efforts to expand urban agriculture and provide Madisonville residents affordable access to fresh food. Many thanks to volunteers and board members who helped make this inaugural event a success!

Duke Energy - Impact Report
Duke Energy's two month sponsorship allowed all of our charitable member agencies access to free tool orders during August and September. Thanks to their generosity, 55 ToolBank members were able to equip over 4,500 volunteers with $158,900 worth of tools for FREE! Duke's sponsorship of free tools not only supports the ToolBank but impacts all of our members, the local community, and speaks volumes to the return on investment our supporters enjoy.
Here's the break down of the value of Duke's $10,000 investment in the ToolBank:
Value of Volunteer Hours = $124,630
Value of Tools Borrowed = $158,900
TOTAL VALUE = $283,530
Calculation Notes:
Volunteer Hours: 4,597 x 4 (estimated average project length)= 18,388
Volunteer Hours Value: 18,388 x $19.51 (Corporation for National & Community Service)
