Did you know... One more benefit of Control4's latest software release - integrated music services!
Now you can stream Pandora! Rhapsody, Napster and TuneIn were already part of C4's services. They also offer Tidal, which is a subscription music service that offers high-fidelity, CD sound quality streaming.
Control4 can be programmed to play a family member's favorite station in the house when they unlock the front door. How's that for a greeting?

Despite the fallout over privacy concerns, people seem to like the upgrade. For those who have installed it, and those ready for the switch, there are 3 privacy concerns to consider.
Personalization vs. Privacy Millennial users feel as if they don't have privacy anymore. So they are more willing to give up privacy for more features. While older users still tend to be less trusting and more wary.
The major struggle that has been brought to light is the exchange of personal data for convenience and ease of use.The big question becomes: Do we want better privacy or a better product?
Opt-out vs. Opt-in With the Windows 10 update, there is the option to opt-out of Information Sharing. No info will be collected and sent back to Microsoft. However, people who opt-out may not be able to take advantage of key features.
Consent vs. Dissent Personal information is collected and used usually for advertising or for personalizing applications. However, once your information is used in a way you don't like, there's no way to reverse it.
People must push back on features they are not comfortable with. Read the fine print and check your settings. While companies need to be more transparent of their intention, users need to take a bit of the responsibility too. After all, is anything ever really "free"?

Make low battery anxiety a thing of the past.
Energous has made a wireless charging system named "WattUp" which has a charging radius of 15 feet. The transmitter will be just about the size of a wireless router. Instead of magnetic induction, radio frequencies will be used to charge the devices.
A WattUp™ transmitter, or Power Router, works like Wi-Fi and sends energy via a radio frequency (RF) signal to your WattUp-enabled electronic devices when requested. A WattUp receiver in each device converts that signal into battery power. The entire system is software controlled, so it's intelligent and customizable to your needs and environment.
It's programmable and automatic:
Pairs 1-12 devices with a WattUp™ transmitter
Sets minimum power levels, so when a device reaches a certain level it automatically receives power to prevent it from dying
Tells the WattUp™ transmitter if a device has been plugged into a wall outlet
Lets users find public WattUp™ locations on a map, including whether they are free or paid systems (including the rate)
