Dear Friends,
Although 2014 began with bitingly cold temperatures, our hearts at CASA are warm. We welcomed over 450 new supporters to our family last year...I am grateful for many of you stepping up to help provide a CASA volunteer for every abused and neglected child that needs one.
Your gifts were especially meaningful because even during the tail-end of a recession, so many of you gave. You didn't shield yourself from the gut-wrenching headlines like "Illinois is losing more kids to child abuse and neglect than any time in 30 years despite being under the watch of the child-welfare authorities." You didn't turn your back on the 1,500 children who were reportedly abused in Lake County or the current 593 we fight for every day. And if you are not a CASA volunteer, you supported the 297 advocates who are -- you did your part in serving these hundreds of innocent victims. Thank you.
PLEASE, don't go anywhere! We need you more than ever. There are many children still waiting for a CASA. We need to sustain our 297 advocates as well as train additional ones. 2014 marks our 20th year...and we simply couldn't have done it without you.
We wish you a healthy, happy and safe New Year.
With deep appreciation,
-- Terri

She said she simply couldn't part with it...She couldn't separate it from her other dolls. We're talking about dolls... Read more
