Greetings!
We've made it past Thanksgiving and into the final push of the semester. I hope your days off from class gave you some time to spend with your loved ones and some time to recharge as finals approach. As you attend your last classes and start to study for exams, remember to take care of yourself. This time of year is stressful and you need to make your wellness a priority. Make sure you're getting enough sleep and eating healthy foods to keep your mind and body strong as you finish out the semester. MRKT 492: Short Term Study Abroad in Belize will take you out of the country for 10 days over Spring Break. Spend the first half of the semester learning about Fair Trade concepts. Visit Fair Trade producers in Belize over Spring Break and immerse yourself in the culture. Spend the second half of your semester working on service learning projects for the same companies you visited!
Requirements: 2.5 GPA, sophomore standing
Cost: $ 2,900 (qualifies for financial aid)

Seriously, they know what they're talking about.In order to better answer registration questions, advisors in the College of Business Advising Center (MH 151) will see students on a walk-in basis to answer your registration questions. Students will sign in and see the first available advisor. To prepare for registration and meetings with advisors, we encourage you to follow these simple tips. - Look up your registration window under "courses & registration" on e-Services and register as soon as your window opens.
- Check for any registration holds under "courses & registration" on e-Services and take care of holds before your window opens. Holds will prevent you from registering.
- Review your Interactive Degree Audit Report (DARS) to see which courses you have completed and which courses in general education and your major you still need to complete. This can be found on e-Services under "check grades."
- Review the class schedule and develop a list of classes you are interested in taking in the spring. Bring this list of classes and your DARS report with you when you meet with your advisor.
- Register as soon as your registration window opens.
Laptop Program and Prerequisite Override Forms: Students beginning to take 200 level or above classes in the College of Business will need to complete the Laptop form 1-2 days prior to registering. Students who transferred in a course that are prerequisite for a course they wish to register will need to complete a Prerequisite Override from 1-2 days prior to registration. Department: Business Law** Hometown: Albert Lea, MN Roommates (family, friends, pets): I share my life with a Mini Doxie named Sadie. Guilty pleasures: Hot fudge sundaes would qualify and I love bread of all kinds. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? I probably wanted to be a pioneer living with an Indian tribe, because I was pretty fixated on the Native American people. I also wanted to be rafting down the Mississippi River. I thought that the Mark Twain adventure would be a pretty cool thing to do. What was your major in undergrad? Political Science I served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Peruvian Jungle from '69 to '71, working in rural communities to improve nutrition and sanitiation. I left to change the world and it changed me. The PC experience motivated me to study political science and later law - wanting to be an agent of change in the world. Desert Island Categories: (If you were stranded on a deserted island, and you could pick one item for each category to have with you, what would you choose?) - Book: Loving Frank by Nancy Horan - Movie: Argo - TV Series: CSI - Album: Joan Baez - Food item: Spaghetti with meatballs Why did you decide to pursue teaching? I was practicing law in a private practice and clients were coming to me after they created terrible problems for themselves. I got to treat them in the emergency room with Band-Aids. I decided that I wanted to help people before they were in emergencies and teaching seemed to be the way to do that. What has been your favorite teaching moment? I like working with teams. I enjoy hearing teams present and being a mentor or a resource for teams that are problem solving.
