For many if not most people, bears are among the first animals they are aware of as children, mostly in a harmless and manageable form. A few examples of famous teddy bears are Rupert Bear, Winnie the Pooh, Berenstain Bears and Yogi Bear.
But why are teddy bears so popular? People love to cuddle with them or take them along as companions. Adults tend to give teddy bears to one's sweetheart as a sign of partnership. Whatever the case, teddy bear stories from fairy tales and cartoons usually have little in common with the real animal. |
