Under the Tuscan Sun: Spring semester in Florence
MONDAY, OCTOBER 14TH 12 - 1 PM
Newman Auditorium, Santa Rosa Campus
Buongiorno! Join us for a `virtual tour' of sunny Italy in this fall's presentation on SRJC's esteemed Study Abroad Program. Wendy Wisely (Theatre Arts), an instructor for the Florence program for Spring 2014, will be giving an overview lecture on Firenze-- Florence-- the cradle and crown jewel of the Italian Renaissance. Whether you are curious about the Study Abroad Program or simply interested in a bit of the history and culture of this romantic city, this noontime lecture is sure to give you a taste of "la dolce vita" (the good life)! This is also the last in person information session with Wendy while there is still time to enroll in the Study Abroad program for spring 2014. |
CalWORKs invites you to a presentation by Antionette Dozier of Western Center on Law & Poverty titled "Students and CalWORKs:
A Guide to Educational Opportunities in the CalWORKs Program". Also joining us will be: Liana Molina from California Reinvestment Coalition, a coalition of 300 organizations that advocate for more affordable financial services in low income communities.
The presentation will be held in Plover Hall, Room 558 on
Friday, October 18th from 9 AM - 11:30 AM.
Space is limited; please RSVP to Lily Hunnemeder-Bergfelt 707-524-1686 or [email protected] to reserve your seat.

FACT: Bears have plantigrade paws with non-retractile claws.
Bears walk in a manner such that their entire foot makes contact with the ground. This foot configuration is referred to as plantigrade locomotion and is also common in primates (including humans) as well. Other plantigrade animals include kangaroos, mice, raccoons, and hedgehogs. A bear's plantigrade gait can be contrasted with the digitigrade gait foot of a dog (which walks on its digits) and the unguligrade foot of a deer (which walks on the tips of its toes). |
