Community Conversations

Santa Rosa Junior College invites students, alumni, residents, business owners, representatives of non-profit organizations, government leaders and all community members to attend a Community Conversations event to share their vision for the college's future.

 

The intent of the Community Conversation is to offer an opportunity for stakeholders to speak about future possibilities for the college and a chance to hear from new voices. As a Santa Rosa Junior College student, your voice as a stakeholder is exceptionally important! Students are encouraged to attend any of the Community Conversations listed below and share their ideas, hopes and vision for the future of SRJC as part of the Strategic Pla

nning process currently underway at the college.

Santa Rosa Medical Assistant Students will Receive  
their Certificates in a Special Ceremony on May 21, 2013

The Santa Rosa Junior College Health Sciences Department will be graduating almost 50 Medical Assistants who will be receiving their Administrative, Clinical, or Coding certificates this spring.  The ceremony will be held in Bertolini Student Center on May 21, 2013 from 6 - 8 p.m.. Speakers will include:

Nancy Thomas, RN, PHN, MSN, Program Coordinator
Amanda Arquello, Clinical Medical Student Graduate
Dr. Ezbon Jen, Dean, Health Sciences

There will also be a musical component celebrating the accomplishments and aspirations of the graduates. Gloria Strasburg, Adjunct Faculty, Health Sciences will sing "Reach", and "Change the World" accompanied by: Mike Perkins (guitar and vocal)  Betty Perkins (guitar and vocal) and Nancy Talley (drum and vocal).

Surviving an Active Shooter Situation

There will be two evening presentations of 'Shots Fired on Campus - When Lightning Strikes'. This video offers expert guidance for surviving an active shooter situation. Following the video, District Police Chief Matt McCaffrey will be available to answer questions from the audience.
