March in March to the State Capitol: Monday March 4, 2013 (6:45 a.m. - 4 p.m.)

Students, faculty and staff from California Community Colleges, the California State University, and the University of California are expected to join the March on March 4th, 2013. The Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC) in conjunction with the California State Student Association (CSSA) and the University of California Student Association (UCSA) are organizing this grassroots movement. Each year thousands march in the streets and rally on the California State Capitol steps. On the local level, the Santa Rosa Junior College Associated Students led by President, Jessica Jones, AFA and SEIU are joining together on advocacy and lobbying efforts for access to affordable and quality higher education. Check out this YouTube video from last year's event!

Interested studentsmay sign-up in the Student Affairs Office of each campus; located in the Bertolini Student Center, First Floor of the Santa Rosa Campus, and in the Richard W. Call Building, on the Petaluma Campus. We have arranged for free bus transportation and one free meal to the first 75 students on the Santa Rosa Campus, 20 students on the Petaluma Campus that sign-up to attend. This is strictly on a first come, first serve basis. Due to limited funding, all others who sign up to attend will be placed on a wait list, and are encouraged to carpool with other students if possible. All travel logistics are available at sign-up locations.

Please contact me if any questions or issues come up.  -Jessica JonesRotishot@gmail.com or check out our A.S. facebook page at facebook.com/srjcas.
