Coping Strategies for Hearing Loss: a free, non-credit course which provides education and support for adults with hearing loss. Monthly meetings focus on topics such as cochlear implants, overcoming communication challenges, hearing aids, loop systems and other technology. Friends and family members are welcome to attend the class. Captioning/transcribing and assistive listening devices will be available for every class.
The first meeting will be Wednesday, February 13, 2013, 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Santa Rosa Campus, Doyle Library Room 4245, Ground Floor. Topic: Cochlear Implant User's Panel.

The Children's Center and Child Development Department
is offering a workshop for student parents on Kindergarten.
We are opening this up to the SRJC community - please spread the word.
Kindergarten Here We Come! On Friday, February 22nd from 9 - 10:30 a.m. in Room 3862, John Eberly, Child Development instructor, former kindergarten teacher and elementary school principal, will lead a workshop for parents on Kindergarten. The workshop will be held in room 3862, upstairs in the Robert Call Child Development Center from 9:00-10:30. Come learn about what's required to register for kindergarten, the skills children should develop by the time they enter kindergarten, and how to help your child transition from a preschool setting into the "big school." John will also talk about the intra- district and inter- district transfer process, charter schools, and transitional kindergarten programs.
