Self-Assessment as a Graduate Student
Make More Informed Career-Related Decisions!

When it comes to getting the most out of your career, the personal awareness that results from frequent self-assessment provides a solid foundation of knowledge for making more informed and personally meaningful decisions. To support this essential professional development activity, the Center for Career Services offers these two well-known career assessments to graduate students:
  • The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a questionnaire designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions. The comprehensive report you will receive from taking this assessment identifies job families and occupations that are a good fit for your particular personality type.
  • The Strong Interest Inventory is a questionnaire designed to provide insight into your interests, preferences, and personal styles. The Strong Interest report will allow you to identify specific courses, jobs, internships, and activities that you will likely enjoy.
