The Advantages of Self-Exploration
Self-exploration involves becoming aware of what's important to you and understanding the things that make you who you are: your values, interests, aptitudes, abilities, strengths and weaknesses. It is also a way to gain more insight on what type of activities and environments allow your particular personality type to thrive.

When it comes to careers, the self-awareness that results from frequent self-exploration provides a solid foundation of knowledge for making smart and personally meaningful decisions. After all, if you enjoy what you are doing, believe in it, and made a purposeful choice to pursue a career in it, you will tend to be more committed to it, be better at it, and work harder to do it well!

Self-Assessment at Career Services

Make more informed major- and career-related decisions by taking these two well known career assessments:

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assessment is a questionnaire designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions. The comprehensive  report you will receive from taking this assessment identifies  job families and occupations that are a good fit for your particular personality type.

The Strong Interest Inventory is a questionnaire designed to provide insight into your interests, preferences, and personal styles. The Strong Interest report will allow you to identify specific courses, jobs, internships, and activities that you will likely enjoy.

Maximize your time here at Marymount and ensure your progression towards a meaningful and satisfying future career by taking a career assessment today!
