Happy tabletop Day and a super special sale for you!

Some Defenders action captured by Wingman Dante Amor!

We hope everyone had the chance to get together this past Saturday and play some games for the second international tabletop day! Here are some highlights from Eagle-Gryphon Games International Tabletop Day. We were fortunate to have several of our wingmen demo'ing games and spreading plenty of eagle-gryphon cheer at your friendly local game store!

Francis Drake was a popular title at the tabletop events! Jason Grantz and his group played a session at his event!

Caysi McQuillan's group decided on Triassic Terror!

Fleet got a great demo! Maybe they'll do the Arctic Bounty expansion next time!

Pitchcar got broken out at a tabletop session run by Dante Amor.

We know that not everyone got a chance to take part in the event, so we are having a very special sale event. YOU tell US what game you would love to see on sale, and we will try and make it happen for you, just email us at customer-service@eagle-gryphon.com or on our twitter or  facebook page!

Francis Drake Tabletop Day Session Report!

One of our most dedicated wingmen, Jason Grantz, demo'd several of our games at local tabletop events! He kindly sent us this session report and images of he and his group playing Francis Drake! For more details about the game, check out the listing here

My first demo game for Tabletop Day 2014 was one of my favorite 2013 releases, Francis Drake!

I had a full crew for this one, as I was joined by James, Josh, Brian, and Daniel for lots of plundering of the high seas! As I've come to expect when demoing this great game, I hear a lot of compliments and admiration of the components. Francis Drake has a some major "WOW" factors, not only after you play it from a game design standpoint, but also before you play it from a production standpoint as well.

I already had to game set-up, when I gather up the players. In a five player game, the resources can be very tight, and if you want something, you're probably going to have to give up other valuable spots to get it. Josh skipped over most of the board to gather up just a few crew and guns each turn, and almost all the trade goods. He would get a supplies at the dockside and be at the harbor before the rest of us were half way through Plymouth.

He continued this same strategy through Voyages 2 and 3. Daniel was going for a heavy combat strategy, which also worked out very well for him. I believe there was only one Voyage he wasn't successful at getting the 10vp bonus for attacking a Town, Fort, and Galleon.

After the third voyage, counting up the final score was very tense and everyone revealed the treasure hidden in their chest. Josh, who was able to score two sets of complete trade goods, jumped from last place to barely making it to first place and ended with 87. Daniel had 86 points, James had 77 points, Brian had 72 points, and I ended with only 71 points.

James and Josh were not euro games players, but really enjoyed playing this game, and were wanting to pick up a copy when the reprint becomes available. Francis Drake is always a tense, fun game and really can appeal to everyone. I always look forward to my next session!

Watching Baseball Highlights: 2045
is like watching TV highlights of early 21st-century baseball games, with the game play being full of theme with no outs or innings and without bogging down in a play-by-play baseball simulation. In this quick and interactive game, two players build their teams as they play, combining both strategy (building your team) and tactics (playing the game) without any of the downtime. During each "mini-game", each player alternates playing six cards to simulate a full game's highlights. The mini-game includes defensive and offensive actions, and your single card play may include elements of defensive and/or offensive plays. Do you try to thwart your opponent's pending hits, put up strong offensive action of your own, or use your better players to do both? Players buy new free agents after each mini-game to improve their roster, and the team who wins the most mini-games in the series is the champ!        MSRP: $34.99
