Did You Know?
For the next few months, we will be highlighting new data produced by the PCHTF that will inform our future funding allocation decisions. We'll show you one chart in this space each month and provide a brief explanation to make this information easy to understand.

This month's chart shows the distribution of household types among extremely low income renters, or those making less than 30% of area median income. The key finding here is that 60% of extremely low income renter households in Polk County are made up of single people. The average age of these single extremely low income renters is 49, illustrating that a substantial number of seniors are part of this group.

Randolph situation spurs PCHTF research

2nd grade inspiration and asking questions to positively impact affordable housing
There's nothing quite like the enthusiasm, curiosity and questions you get from elementary-aged kids. For years I had a tradition of visiting all the 2nd grade classes in Ankeny during the fall and having a discussion regarding citizenship and the services provided in our community.
