Welcome to Melissa Hayes Avon Park Chamber Director Melissa Hayes began her new duties as Executive Director of Avon Park Chamber of Commerce on August 11th. Some of her plans for the position include updating the website to give members and site visitors an idea of what chamber programs and assistance is available to the retail and industrial sites in Avon Park, and luring in members who have dropped out or become inactive. She also would like to upgrade the chamber's membership benefits package so that it would be customized to the various members and make incentives to join or stay with the chamber more appealing. Please stop by to welcome Melissa to Avon Park. For more information, click on chamber.
Avon Park Autumn Bike Fest
Things are shaping up to be a fun weekend for all! ABATE of Florida Safety and Education is working hard to make their Autumn Bike Fest an event for bikers as well as the local community. Friday morning the event will kick off with a Veteran's Tribute with veterans from different conflicts raising a flag that has flown over our nation's capital. The flag will be presented to the city after the close of the event. Check out the vendors on Main Street as well as the local shops - grab a bite to eat, listen to the bands, and donate at the OneBlood big red bus. Join CMA at Auto Options, 106 W. Main Street, for the Sunday morning service as well as a bike blessing. Visit their website at abateflorida.
