April is Keep America Beautiful month.
Keep America Beautiful was organized in 1953 to bring corporate and private individuals together to promote the importance of keeping America's public spaces clean and beautiful. The Keep America Beautiful foundation has three core missions: preventing litter, reducing waste, and beautifying communities.

April 6 is the official day for the Great American Cleanup, but communities hold events throughout the entire year. Great American Cleanup events and education programs help to renew parks, trails and recreation areas, clean shorelines and waterways, remove litter and debris, reduce waste and increase recycling, and plant trees, flowers and community gardens, among other activities, to inspire a new generation of community stewards. World Health Day is April 7. The theme this year is Improving food safety, from farm to plate. World Health Day 2015 is an opportunity to alert people working in different government sectors, farmers, manufacturers, retailers, health practitioners - as well as consumers - about the importance of food safety, and the part each can play in ensuring that everyone can feel confident that the food on their plate is safe to eat. Earth Day is April 22 and focuses on the environment and our planet. The first Earth Day on April 22, 1970 activated 20 million Americans from all walks of life to share their concerns about each citizen's critical role in the environment. Now over one billion people in 192 countries participate in Earth Day activities, making it the largest civic observance in the world.
Arbor Day is April 27 and focuses on planting trees to improve the environment and beautify the world. The Arbor Day Foundation works with the U.S. Forest Service to plant trees in America's national forests and the National Association of State Foresters to plant trees in state forests. Through the generous donations of their members and partners, the Foundation has helped the Forest Service plant more than 20 million forestland trees since 1990.
