Main Street CRA Board Meeting - First Thursday of the month at 12 noon in City Hall
Recycle - Every Wednesday. Regular garbage pickup - Thursday or Friday (instead of Monday or Tuesday).
Historical Society - Every 3rd Monday at Noon. Meeting at the Depot Museum. The Museum is open Wed, Thurs, and Fri from 10 am to 3 pm. Call (863) 453-3525 for more information.
TAG Studio - The Artists Group (T.A.G.) Studio, located in the Hotel Jacaranda, is open Tuesday - Friday from 10 am - 3 pm, and on Sunday from 11 am - 2 pm for viewing. They also have classes in painting, clay, and jewelry. Classes run from November - April. For more information, please call (863) 784-7346.

Hibiscus Garden Club of Avon Park
Annual Plant Sale
March 8th
8 a.m. - Noon
The Hibiscus Garden Club of Avon Park will be holding their annual plant sale on March 8th from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at Donaldson Park. Many plants will be available for sale, along with some free cuttings from garden club members. Don't miss this opportunity to purchase beautiful plants, and also to talk to garden club members about planting and growing these new additions to your garden!

Springtime
on the Mall
March 28th and 29th
The 35th Annual Springtime on the Mall Festival is slated for Friday, March 28, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, March 29, 2014, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event is held in downtown Avon Park on Main Street from Delaney Avenue to Central Avenue. The event consists of Arts and Crafts vendors, music and entertainment, and a children's section. There will also be multiple food and drink vendors. There is no admission charge. The annual Rotary pancake breakfast will be on Saturday morning from 7 a.m. until 11 a.m. - tickets may be purchased at the breakfast or from a Rotary member.
Music on the Mall
5 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Welcome to the fifth Music on the Mall concert, featuring Ransom. The event will take place at the Bandstand on the Mall. There will be a Chili Cook Off before the concert, and many stores will remain open. Admission is free. This event is sponsored by the Main Street CRA, Avon Park Breakfast Rotary, The DaisyGirl Shop, and Extraordinaire Heating & A/C. Bring Your Own Chair!

Bullock Farms
Offering $5 Koi
Rob Bullock, owner of Bullock Farms located at 915 W Main Street, is offering $5 koi fish. Stop by the business, which is open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, to pick up your fish. In addition to his business, Bullock has been working with Cracker Trail Elementary School to instill an interest in aquaculture and farming while pupils are learning lessons in science, healthcare, elementary physics and responsibility. Most of the school's approximately 650 pupils are lending a hand in raising fish from spawning, growing and on into bigger tanks. For more on this project, read Aquaculture Project.

2014 Florida Car Marathon Precision Car Rally
Florida Car Marathon 500 Miles, will take place April 4, 5 & 6, 2014, from Miami to Tampa to Naples and back to Miami. The group will leave Miami on Saturday, April 5th, at 8:00 a.m., stop for lunch in Okeechobee, continue on to Avon Park with a stop at Donaldson Park, and enter Tampa Bay at about 5:30 p.m. The Florida Car Marathon 2014 [FCM] is an automobile competition based on precision driving and navigational skills in classic and exotic automobiles. The Events are timed, controlled-speed, endurance rallies- not top-speed races. Each vehicle must follow a prescribed common route while attempting to maintain average speeds.
