Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

December 7th

National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is a day to remember and honor all  who died in the attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on December 7, 1941. The attack at the base also officially marked U.S. involvement in World War II.  In 1994, Congress named December 7th as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day. Just three years before, on the 50th anniversary of the attacks, Congress created commemorative medals for all those who were at Pearl Harbor that day. Civilians were also included as recipients of the Pearl Harbor Commemorative Medal.  2013 marks the 72nd anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attacks.
