 Florida's Foundation Offering Free

Mitigation Webinars

Florida's Foundation is offering 10 webinars about mitigation that will be available to the public at no charge. Mitigation is defined as the lessening of the force or intensity of something unpleasant. Wind mitigation specifically targets the structural and nonstructural aspects that prevent or lessen damage caused by high winds that occur with storms. The webinars are designed for homeowners wanting to learn more ways to prepare their homes for hurricanes. Researched methods for strengthening a home to withstand higher winds will be discussed. Wind mitigation is meant to avoid a hazard by reducing the amount of damage to your home and reducing the amount of debris that may result in damage to other homes and speed cleanup efforts. In Florida, our primary concern is the wind damage caused by hurricanes. Hurricane season begins June 1 and ends November 30. That means for five of twelve months of every year, Floridians are at risk for exposure to high winds. Also, it is not unusual to have a hurricane or tropical storm outside of hurricane season.  To sign up for the free webinar, visit Webinars. Visit Florida's Foundation website at Florida'sFoundation for more information.
