NLU's Career Development Office Unveils A New "EXPERIENCE"

The NLU Career Development Office (CDO) is thrilled to launch a new job search and recruiting tool, replacing the Virtual Career Network (VCN). EXPERIENCE will launch on July 1, and you'll see information on how to access the tool through your Portal in the next issue of Hot Jobs. You also have the option to create a new account if your Portal sign-in information is a distant memory.

 

EXPERIENCE is the first of several enhancements the CDO has in store over the summer. Stay tuned for announcements about an EXPERIENCE app, the NLU Landing Board, Dress the Part Clothing Closet and more.

Getting To Know
The Lifelong Learning Institute Event
This event will be held at the Wilmette Library, on Tuesday,
July 9 from 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. There will be a short film adaptation of "The Chrysanthemums" based on John Steinbeck's acclaimed short story of the same title. An Introduction to the
Comprehensive Intervention Model
Hosted by NLU's Reading Recovery Center, from Summer Institutes Logo
July 30 - August 1, this institute will introduce and assist school teams in planning and providing evidence-based, highly effective and tailored interventions for reversing learning difficulties.  A variety of speakers will provide examples from a portfolio of approaches within the Comprehensive Interv ention Model, which includes Reading Recovery and small group instruction aligned with core curriculum. Writers' Week Workshops
Attend NLU's annual Writers' Week! The public is invited to attend four 3-hour workshops, including Saturday lunches, with authors. The fee for the full four days is $100. Or, you can attend single 3-hour workshops for $30 each. Graduate and undergraduate students may earn university credit at a special rate. Discover The NLU P.A.C.E. Program
P.A.C.E. is a two-year, post-secondary certificate program offered by the acclaimed National College of Education at National Louis University. The program, located at the new NLU campus in Skokie, Illinois, is designed to meet the transitional needs of for students with multiple learning disabilities. The success of P.A.C.E. is reflected in the success of its alumni; more than 80 percent of the graduates are employed. Click on the video below to watch P.A.C.E.
