Dr. Joan's Life Tip of The Month

Be aware, practice gratitude, let go of fear.

For inspiration, I will leave you with this short story.

"A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet. He held up a sign which said: 'I am blind, please help.' There were only a few coins in the hat. A man was walking by. He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat. He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words. He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see it.

Soon the hat began to fill up. A lot more people were now giving money to the blind boy. That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were going. The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, 'Were you the one who changed my sign this morning? What did you write?' The man said, 'I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way. I wrote: Today is a beautiful day but I cannot see it."

What is Dr Joan up to?

- Of course, I've been busy with the holiday season, doing my best to balance "responsibilities" with perhaps the greater responsibility to take care of myself and loved ones!

-With Adventures in Chocolate published recently, the elves in our kitchen have been busy making truffles and other delectables from the book, even coming up with new recipes for folks with special needs.

-We celebrated Winter Solstice with a bonfire enjoyed with friends and a few snow flakes, reminding us that days will in time be longer and that Spring is not far away.

-Spent a delicious English Christmas dinner with a small group of friends. My contribution - mince pies; no chocolate this time. Our daughter Eftihia brought sunshine from LA to see the New Year in.

-Thank you to those who got your copy of
Adventures in Chocolate
