David O'Brien to Present "The Leader As A Coach" Workshop
As part of David's ongoing partnership with the CT Association of Nonprofits, he will be delivering his very popular, Leader As A Coach workshop on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at the CAN office in Hartford, CT. The three-hour program is designed to provide participants with an opportunity to evaluate their current coaching capacity while building an actionable framework for improving the employee development process. The 9:00 a.m. to 12-noon workshop is open to the public but registration is required. David O'Brien to Present "Building A Navigator Culture" at SHRM Event
David will be a featured speaker at the Human Resource Leadership Association's Strategic Leadership seminar on June 5, 2014. His presentation titled, Building A Navigator Culture, explores the link between behavior, morale, engagement and results. It also examines the pivotal role that HR must play in building a leadership culture. This program has been approved by HRCI for 1.50 strategic recertification credits. David will be the featured speaker at the Human Resource Management Association of Central Massachusetts monthly breakfast meeting on June 12, 2014. His presentation titled, Driving Employee Engagement; A Leader's Guide to Maximizing Employee Capacity examines current research and best practice strategies for increasing employee engagement. The program also provides participants with the opportunity to objectively assess the current state of their organizations' engagement pulse. 9 Strategies for Managing Your Self-Talk
 "Most folks are about as happy as they want to be." This observation by Abraham Lincoln offers a multitude of reminders for each of us as we make our way through the accelerating demands of our busy lives. At its most basic level, the observation reminds us that when it comes to our happiness, we do in fact have a choice. The Leader As A Coach
 Today more than ever before, leaders at all levels are called upon to continuously develop their team's capacity to succeed. Often, a key differentiator between high performing teams and others is the leader's ability to effectively address the coaching and development needs of each employee. Beyond the ability to respond to a wide range of development issues, today's successful leader must also be able to adapt to the learning styles of each team member. In this action oriented and hands-on workshop, participants explore a wide range of coaching insights that help foster a proactive development environment. From building a skill baseline to exploring the links to long term success, the program provides leaders with an actionable framework for improving the employee development process. The program includes all materials and assessments including the Coaching Effectiveness Inventory (CEI), the Career Readiness Profile (CRP) and the Leader's Coaching Game Plan. In addition to creating a framework for understanding the leadership coaching process, the program provides tips and techniques for immediate skill application. Participants are also provided with the opportunity to develop an employee specific coaching plan.
