Today's environment presents us with some serious national and global issues. During these uncertain times, RPA continues to move forward with a cautious yet optimistic outlook. We are continuing to keep our belt tight and yet continuously looking for ways to enhance our processes. As we steer RPA into the future, our focus is to keep it simple and concentrate on a culture of "We" and not "Me." We, as partners with our clients, help them succeed. It's a role we take very seriously and I hope you see that approach come through in our work. A highlight of this past quarter was in mid-February when I had the opportunity to address 120 bright, young engineering undergraduate and graduate students at the University of Pennsylvania. The questions they asked and the enthusiasm they demonstrated gives me great optimism for the engineering profession and the many businesses that will benefit from their future contributions. You can read more about my presentation below. And, it's that time of year when we are preparing for our Annual Employee Meeting where we recognize outstanding performance from our team. If you've had a positive, memorable experience with an RPA team member during 2012, we want to hear from you. See the article below for the link to a very short nomination form. On behalf of the entire RPA team, I value your business friendship and wish you and your family a wonderful spring. Rick Aulenbach

Arc-Flash Hazard Analysis
|
Arc flash is the electrical explosion that occurs when there is an electrical short circuit. This type of explosion could expel fire, shrapnel, and a pressure blast, which could result in severe injury and burns to any persons who are standing in its path.
Difficult to predict, it is an absolute necessity for employers to take the proper precautions in order to protect their employees and prevent injury. "Per OSHA regulations, the employer is required to provide the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and warning signs/labels such that employee risk and exposure to an arc flash is minimized," states RPA Electrical Engineer, Mike Cierlitsky. RPA's skilled team of engineers are able to perform in-depth arc-flash hazard analyses to keep your company up to date on all OSHA requirements, and ensure system reliability and employee safety. For more information on arc-flash analysis, contact Mike Cierlitsky at mcierlitsky@rpaengr.com.
