Grand Opening: Advanced Manufacturing Training And Education Center (AMTEC)

You are invited to join the community, EvCC President, Dr. David Beyer, Everett Mayor, Ray Stephanson, and Washington Governor, Jay Inslee for the Grand Opening of Everett Community College's Advanced Manufacturing Training and Education Center (AMTEC).

When: October 1, 2014 at 2pm
Where: 909 North Broadway at College Plaza
What: Tour the region's most advanced training facility, enjoy light refreshments, and learn about educational opportunities in our community.

AMTEC will train students for high-demand jobs in aerospace, maritime, medical device, and other manufacturing industries.

AMTEC students work in a simulated manufacturing facility in which they learn to think critically, collaborate in teams across company 'silos', and innovate to drive value for their employer throughout the entire manufacturing life-cycle.

In its first year AMTEC will be home to six high demand training programs:

  • Manufacturing Pre-employment
  • CNC Machining
  • Composites
  • Engineering Technician
  • Welding
  • Fabrication

AMTEC will serve more than 300 manufacturing employers in Snohomish County, including the aerospace, maritime, and medical device industries.

Funding Available To Train Your Workforce

As the unemployment rate hovers around 5%, employers are finding it increasingly difficult to hire the talent they need to effectively and efficiently run their day to day operations. One solution to filling the skills gap is to train current employees in areas like supervision, project management, lean six sigma, blue print reading, machining, and welding.

The good news is there are programs available to help local employers pay for the training needed to remain competitive. Annual state funding for both the Customized Training Program (CTP) as well as the Job Skills Program (JSP) are available now on a competitive basis for qualifying companies.

Funds are limited. Learn more at the Customized Training Program and Job Skills Program by emailing Ray Kubista or calling 425-267-0162 to discuss how we can help today.
Bachelor of Arts In Management -
Organizational Excellence (BAM)

The BAM program is a special partnership between City University of Seattle and Everett Community College designed for busy, working adults but open to all. The initial program was launched in 2012 and to date has over 475 students enrolled. This program allows for previous documented employer training, military and/or other college coursework be applied toward the degree.

Additionally, the practical teaching approach equips participants with two professional certificates providing skills and knowledge that can be applied immediately to the workplace on the pathway to degree completion.  Flexible daytime, evening and online scheduling allows students to complete the program in the most efficient pathway as possible.

The BAM program is recommended for:
