Everett Community College Grows Composites Training and Partnerships
In response to growing industry demand, EvCC recently has retooled its composites training programs to align with the latest composites technology and current industry standards.
Today about 100 students each year are trained in composites manufacture, repair, and non-destructive testing in EvCC's composites certificate (NDT) -- and as part of EvCC's Part 147 FAA-approved aviation maintenance program. EvCC will further expand its composites training when it opens its Advanced Manufacturing Training and Education Center (AMTEC) in September. The 37,000 square foot facility will be located near the college's main campus in north Everett. AMTEC will also house the college's engineering technology, precision machining, quality assurance, and welding/fabrication programs. Students may pursue a short composites certificate that leads to a high demand job or earn a 2-year degree in Engineering Technology or Aviation Maintenance with an emphasis in composites. EvCC's Corporate & Continuing Education Center also provides customized composites training for companies, which it can deliver onsite for employees. Read more... |
