The Gout & Uric Acid Education Society is committed to raising public awareness about gout and arming patients, like you, with resources to help you better understand gout diagnosis and treatment. As you may have seen in our previous newsletters, we have introduced a series of educational comics to help raise awareness about the severity of gout. In honor of National Arthritis Awareness Month and the upcoming Gout Awareness Day on May 22, this month's featured comic references how gout can get in the way of your celebrations!
Entering its 10th year of providing gout education, the Gout & Uric Acid Education Society amplifies its efforts on Gout Awareness Day - and encourages gout sufferers to seek immediate and ongoing treatment.

May 22 is Gout Awareness Day!
May 22 is National Gout Awareness Day. During this day, the Gout & Uric Acid Education Society amplifies its efforts to call attention to the growing incidence of gout - the most common form of inflammatory arthritis - and promote the
importance of immediate and ongoing treatment for improved outcomes. While gout is a very serious disease, just 10 percent of gout sufferers are being properly treated.
The new Gout & Uric Acid Education Society website is a central source of gout information for patients.
Patient resources include brochures in English and Spanish, fact sheets and videos featuring physician advice and patient testimonials.
These resources and additional information are available to patients through the new GoutEducation.org website. Complimentary print materials can be ordered through the Contact Us form.
