New Gout Information Kits
for Medical Professionals
|
Gout is on the rise. Help us Take a Stand.
Gout incidence is on the rise, affecting 8.3 million Americans. Unfortunately, research has shown that only 10 percent of gout sufferers are getting needed, ongoing treatment.
The Gout & Uric Acid Education Society recently introduced new online information kits for doctors and patients to help raise awareness about the disease and improve patient outcomes. Both kits can be found online at GoutEducation.org.
The medical professional kit includes resources such as:
- A Medical Professional Guide that provides the latest perspective on gout diagnosis and treatment.
- The American College of Rheumatology Guidelines for the Management of Gout, Part 1 and 2, which reference the most up-to-date diagnosis and disease management guidelines.
- Eight new videos featuring diagnosis and treatment perspectives from gout specialists and insights from patients on their experiences with gout.
- An updated patient brochure for distribution to patients.
- A poster that can be placed in the waiting or exam room to allow patients to visually see the path to correct gout management.
- A link to a patient education kit, which provides patients with access to information about gout and resources including the brochure, poster, videos and fact sheets.
Printed copies of resources within the medical professional kit -- including the Medical Professional Guide, the patient brochure and the poster -- can be ordered free-of-charge by contacting Laura.Shore@havasww.com.
