Do you know someone who would like to join us as a catalyst for improving City government through performance audits? The City Auditor's Office is looking for a candidate with exceptional writing skills who will assist the office in developing engaging audit reports that invite readers to read more and persuade departments to implement audit recommendations aimed at helping improve City operations. Accounting Office Specialist opportunities (closes Jan. 20):

Do you know someone who would like to start a new career at the city as a part time or full time Accounting Office Specialist II? Employees who qualify to be on the AOS II list are eligible for a variety of positions in the City. Once hired and after passing probation, they become eligible to apply for other city positions, including promotional positions, such as those in the Payroll Audit division of the City Auditor's Office. Some of our most valuable analytical, payroll, and accounting employees started out as Accounting Office Specialists and advanced due to continued education and continuous improvement of their skills. This recruitment will create an eligible list that will be used by hiring departments to fill future temporary and/or career positions at least within the next 12 months. Salary is $4,412.00 - $4,813.00 Monthly. Audits in Progress:

  • Ethical climate survey/ethics audit
  • Contracts review - identify what happens if work starts before the contract is executed.
  • Human Resource - review the City's hiring process and an evaluation of adherence to equal employment opportunity policies.
  • Refuse Billing - focus on the complex coordination of work in different divisions needed to match service delivery with billing. 
 

Police/Community Relations: Council Worksession at 10 AM on Saturday, January 17 

 

A Special Worksession will be held on January 17, at the Ed Roberts Campus Atrium located at 3075 Adeline Street, Berkeley, CA . The focus of the meeting is to discuss possible ways to improve police and community relations.
